Partnership for Sustainability loans are making solar energy systems an affordable reality for business and residential consumers alike.
DENVER MUSEUM OF NATURE & SCIENCE

Thanks in part to a loan from Partnership for Sustainability, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science can now tap into abundant Colorado sunshine for a portion of its power needs with the installation of a new 100-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system. The system consists of 465 solar panels split between roofs on the southeast and southwest wings of the Museum, and should generate 134,500 kilowatt hours of electricity per year on average—enough to power 30 homes. Currently, it is the largest roof-mounted photovoltaic array in Colorado.
PFS made the loan to Hybrid Energy Group, a Denver-based renewable energy investment company. Hybrid Energy Group will own and operate the photovoltaic array, selling the solar electricity it generates to the Museum. After six years, the Museum will purchase the array from Hybrid Energy Group at a discount.
Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper was on hand to help flip the switch on the system as part of an event celebrating the collaboration of the various groups who worked to make the project possible.
